The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 022: Why You Shouldn’t Put Your Best Foot Forward

In dating and early stage romantic relationships, there’s a belief that we should put our best foot forward.

If we really look at this tendency, it makes little sense and can be ruinous. Hiding what the other might find displeasing in order to secure the relationship is self sabotaging on two levels:

  1. Over time both people may claim, “You’re not who I thought you were.” That would be predictable. This ultimately leads to conflict if not failure.
  2. On another level, we disinvest in our authentic self-worth when we hide what we feel insecure about, thereby doing harm to ourselves and, ultimately, to the relationship.

Before you make a commitment in a relationship, you both owe it to yourselves to invest in genuine emotional intimacy to best assure your relationship success.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 021: Do You Care How I Feel?

It’s all to common to get lost in the facts and details of arguments as we debate over right vs. wrong. This type of argument assures no resolution and contributes to the malaise of a relationship. It’s easy to say, “I love you,” but challenging to act lovingly.

To act with compassion and empathy requires caring how we both feel. The question to ask that can break the impasse of conflict is simply, “Do you care how I feel?”

In this episode Mel explains the dynamic that frees us from mindless back and forth arguments and enables us to come into caring and loving relationships.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 019: Bonus Episode ~ Mel on the CoreBrain Journal Podcast

In this bonus episode Mel Schwartz is interviewed by Dr. Charles Parker on his show CoreBrain Journal (hear the original episode here).

Dr. Parker and Mel explore how principles of quantum physics can be applied to our everyday life in unimaginable ways. Mel shares how he learned to untrain his mind from limiting beliefs and thoughts by shifting into that he calls a quantum worldview. He explains the harm done by our habit of either/or thinking that reduces reality to right vs. wrong.

The new quantum  paradigm fosters co-participatory relationships that move beyond the constraints of how we typically engage our lives. From this new perspective change no longer seems hard, but easily accessible. As we learn to embrace uncertainty fear and anxiety retreat as we ride the winds of change.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 018: Overcoming Anxiety

The belief that the best we can do is to cope with or manage anxiety is both wrong, irresponsible and harmful. The epidemic incidence of anxiety suggests that we are living from the wrong game plan.

Anxiety can be overcome once we learn to rethink how reality actually operates and embrace rather than avoid uncertainty.

In this episode, Mel Schwartz shares his approach for overcoming anxiety, fear and distress, which he cultivated from principles of quantum physics inspired initially by the book The Turning Point by Fritjof Capra. By learning to embrace uncertainty fear dissipates and we can become free to experience the wonders of life.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 017: Word Hacking – Eight Common Words That Disrupt Our Lives and Relationships

Our words matter. They matter far more than we likely understand.

In this episode of the Possibility Podcast, Mel Schwartz introduces eight common words we use in most sentences and which occur in most of our thoughts. These words wreak havoc in our relationships and block our personal growth. They also keep us stuck in a seventeenth century worldview which dehumanizes us and keeps us stuck in victimhood.

Listen to this episode to discover those eight words, learn to limit their use, and adopt ways to hack your vocabulary to gain better control over your self-image, your relationships, and your life to actualize reaching your possibilities.

Mel recently presented a TEDx talk on this topic which will be available to view this January.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 016: Reclaim Your Lost Potential

In this episode Mel explains how our innate state of potential becomes narrowed and finite due to personal experiences; often early in life.

From these events our sense of self can become limited and we may attach to limiting personal beliefs. He demonstrates how we came to these false beliefs and how we can transcend them. Mel utilizes a principle from quantum physics to explain this phenomenon and illuminates the pathway for us to once again stake claim to our infinite possibilities.

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 014: How to Achieve and Sustain Happiness

We all want to be happy, but most of us struggle in this endeavor. In this episode of The Possibility Podcast, Mel explores the elusive nature of happiness, which is typically dependent upon future events. He calls this phenomenon I’ll be happy when…

Mel shares that genuine happiness can only occur in the moment that you’re in and requires a transcendent experience of being truly present.

He proposes that bliss occurs when we’re fully immersed in connectivity with ourselves, with others, and the universe at large. Mel explains how our conflicted, angry or fearful thoughts preclude happiness, and how the emerging worldview of quantum inseparability fosters compassion and empathy.

He interviews Rick Blatter of Go Happiness, a wellness and happiness expert, to dialogue around this most essential topic. If you’d like to experience and sustain more happiness in your life don’t miss this episode of The Possibility Podcast!

The Possibility Podcast With Mel Schwartz Episode 013: You Can’t Love Another If You Don’t Love Yourself

In this episode Mel delves into the nature of healthy self-love. This love for self is not self-interested or narcissistic, but a bountiful relationship with your own self.

Not to be confused with being unaccountable, this type of relationship is buoyant and brimming with resilience.

When you come into a healthy relationship with self you’re ready to be authentically loving of others. When you learn to quiet your critical inner voice, you become able to be kind, patient and loving for others.

Mel interviews Chris Wise, who advances the concept of LQ — love quotient — as an indicator of a well-lived life. Mel proposes that the authentic and lasting component of happiness, one that can’t be stripped away from you, is the ability to love yourself and be loving to others. This is the eternal source of meaning and purpose in our lives.
