Embracing Uncertainty: Opening to Infinite Possibilities
Yale New Haven Health Smilow Center
An interactive workshop
Thursday, June 21, 2018
55 Park Street Auditorium
5:30 – 7 pm
Our discomfort with uncertainty lies at the heart of many of our struggles. When we try to avoid the unknown and to predict the future we experience fear, anxiety and the feeling of being stuck. Our struggle to change is rooted in our desire to avoid uncertainty. Being bound up in a straitjacket of certainty leaves us as a character in a novel, the script already written.
Thankfully, as quantum physics has revealed, the universe is awash with uncertainty and that’s actually good news. When we learn to embrace uncertainty, new possibilities emerge as we join in the universal flow of life, enabling fear and anxiety to retreat. Think of it this way: Uncertainty = Possibility.
In this talk, psychotherapist and author of The Possibility Principle: How Quantum Physics Can Improve the Way You Think, Live and Love will share a number of illuminating principles that allow you to live a resilient and self-empowered life. He proposes that we’ve been living from the wrong game plan, based upon an outmoded worldview as he unveils a new way of looking at life, freeing us from our limitations and old beliefs.
